One of Northern Nevada’s Largest Events
The Reno River Festival draws more than 30,000 people to downtown Reno’s Truckee River Whitewater Park each year for a weekend of world-class whitewater competitions, live entertainment, food from around the region and an outdoor expo featuring some of the industry’s top retailers. Each year, the Festival reaches a wider, more diverse crowd and the preponderance of new media and online promotion has made the event more popular than ever before.
By bringing in competitors and visitors from around the globe, the Reno River Festival brings national and international awareness to all of the wonderful things northern Nevada – and our sponsors – have to offer.
In 2012, the event attracted people from across the United States and Canada in addition to paddlers from New Zealand and France. Of those attendees, 83 percent are spectators who spend an average of almost $35 per day with vendors at the event and almost 20 percent of attendees earn $100,000 or more annually. And with an average age of 36 years old and an even split between men and women, the Reno River Festival is known for attracting an audience worth knowing.
Also worth mentioning; last year’s event was featured in publications in markets throughout the region including Sacramento, San Francisco, Las Vegas and the Pacific Northwest, and top paddling and travel websites including Frommers.com, JacksonKayak.com, Examiner.com and USAToday.com.
